Pigs swim in paradise Bahamas


On Bahamas archipelago located in the Caribbean, there is an island called 'Pig Paradise' - Big Major Cay Island, also known as "Pig Island".
Big Major Cay island is uninhabited, so the natural landscape here still conserve natural beauty. Brilliant sunshine, clear blue sea, white sand beaches and stunning characteristics still not making this island became famous. Because here, you will witness a  especial spectacle when more than 20 pigs would come to run on the beach and swimming in the waters emerald . Whenever you hear the boat dock - usually ships carrying tourists to visit the island - the herd of pig swim near the boat  to get food from the tourists.


Unknown ever since and how pork became the island's residents. There are several different stories to explain this. Many people said that a group of sailors brought pigs to here, they plan to stay and use them as a food during the day on the island. However, sailors never returned. Pigs adapted quickly to life on the island and expand until today. The boats passing by the island or locals still often bring food to provide for this pig herd .


Another legend tells of a shipwreck , pigs had to swim to shore and live on the island. Some others believe that "pig paradise" is just a plan to attract tourists to the Bahamas. But whatever , this island is still the place associated with pigs, and watching pigs swimming underwater is a exciting spectacle. The people in the Big Major Cay called by many different names such as "Pig Beach" or "Pig Island" , and call this herd is "Pigs in Paradise".
