Unique glass beach , California

Glass Beach is one of the most unique rocky coast in the world and such as Mecca for sea glass collectors.

Early 20th century, the residents of the Fort Bragg city , California has treat waste by gathering it up and throw off a cliff on a beach. No hazardous waste and sizes too big, just the car, household items and glassware are mostly, but all of them turned beach into a huge public landfill  .

In 1967, local authorities have banned people trash this place because of environmental pollution problems and to embark on the work of garbage collection, but mainly those heavy garbage. They were moved to the mainland for processing, the  millions of pieces glass  remaining of lying still position. By the time the relentless ocean waves pounding the shore, the waves had worn the piece of glass, turning them into pebbles, sand smooth colorful glass. From there, the beach called Glass Beach, is a unique place, a beautiful beach glass sparkling in the sun.

In addition to the beautiful pebbles as Diamond, ruby, beach also has  tide rise or fall irregular. This area is the home of the mollusk species such as crabs and other aquatic plants. To explore their habitat, you have to wait for low tide, it is time that the residents arrived.

Beach MacKerricher of this national park where tourists often visit. Although do not allowed to pick up the stones here, but many people still pick to take home as souvenirs
Currently Glass Beach is one of the famous tourist destination in California. Nobody ever imagine this place is one big garbage dump and the worst.
